Diamond appreciates the people who contribute to our Vision and Values. Meet Brad Block, Regional Sales Manager, and a true representation of what hard work and excellence can accomplish.
What is your role, and how did you discover Diamond Mowers?
I am the Regional Sales Manager for Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
Several years ago, the City of Waterloo, IA (near where I live) had just purchased a new Diamond Mower from a local John Deere dealer. At the time, I was friends with the Vice President of the dealership. Diamond mentioned to him they were looking for a sales rep in IA. This dealer gave Diamond my name. Diamond wanted some with outside sales experience, as well as being mechanically inclined.
I did all the interviews, put my notice in at my old sales job, and took the leap of faith. This turned out to be a good move! In May 2013, I started working at Diamond.
Diamond later learned I had a stay at home wife, five kids, and expensive tastes, so they knew I would go out and work! The rest is history.
How would you describe how Diamond and your job role has evolved over the years?
When I started at Diamond, procedures, policies, and training were minimal. I was sent out to my territories and told to just go out and sell. I did, and I loved it.
I finally found something that fits me and have had the opportunity to be successful at it. As I learn more about mowers and their application, I try to offer and be an advocate for input and advice to better our product and/or ideas to sell and help us all win. Diamond has become more refined with processes and procedures in place that have helped elevate our business.
What has been your favorite part about working at Diamond?
My favorite part about Diamond is working with a diverse product line that allows us to sell to multiple end-users, and it doesn’t seem like “work” most of the time on the job!
What do you appreciate most about Diamond dealers?
I appreciate their commitment to work with us as we grow. Sometimes growing pains and new products can be challenging as well as rewarding. They have stuck with us, and we are a team to win the business together.
What's your favorite Diamond attachment?
My favorite product is the Skid-Steer Forestry Disc Mulcher with a piston motor. It's a heavy-duty disc mulcher and we have owned that specific market.
How would you describe the Diamond team?
We are continually evolving. They've been my work and support family for a long time now.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy homebuilding/renovation, snowmobiling, ATV riding, boating, and being home after traveling!
Are there any other words you'd like to share?
Thank you to the Doyle family and Diamond for the opportunity.
