Tim Schwab - 13 Years of Excellence

Employee Spotlight - Tim Schwab

Diamond appreciates the people who contribute to our Vision and Values. Meet Tim Schwab, Regional Sales Manager, who has contributed 13 years of excellence to Diamond Mowers over his career.

What is your title and role with Diamond Mowers?

I've been a Regional Sales Manager for the last 13 years. My role is to manage the municipal and skid-steer business in the central region covering IL, KS, and MO. I work closely with dealer salespeople, putting together bids and increase sales for Diamond.

“I was ready for a change and had the opportunity to join a great company. It is now one of the best decisions of
my life.”
How did you discover Diamond Mowers, and when did you join?

I knew about Diamond through friends of mine - and it became a viable competitor against me when I was working at Alamo. I joined Diamond in 2007. I was ready for a change and had the opportunity to join a great company. It is now one of the best decisions of my life.

How would you describe how your role at Diamond Mowers has changed and developed over the years?

The most significant change is that I don’t travel the vast geographic area I used to. Originally I covered MI, OH, IN, IL, WV, KY, MO, KS, - and later on acquired CO. The main thing was that the large area was strictly Municipal dealers. We had more product to sell eventually, with the addition of Skid-Steer dealers - which was more products to sell, in a smaller area.

What has been your favorite part about working at Diamond?

My favorite part is winning - coming up with a big win sales-wise. One of the most enjoyable things over the years was doing the pheasant hunt in SD in the fall with dealers.

What do you appreciate most about Diamond dealers, and why?

Their dedication to the Diamond product line and to serving their customers, increasing sales, and providing excellent service.

With retirement set for the end of May - how does it feel?

It feels exciting and scary at the same time. I'm looking forward to having time to play more golf and spend time with the family.

What's your favorite Diamond attachment, and why?

Mid-Mount Boom Mowers - because they’re a specialized piece of equipment that services the Municipal market. The equipment is relatively recession-resistant because we are maintaining existing infrastructure, purchased with tax-based funding. It's consistent year in and year out.

How would you describe the team at Diamond?

I love all the people. Diamond’s commitment to quality equipment, parts, and service is excellent.

What will you miss most about working at Diamond?

The good people.

Any other final words you'd like to share?

A big thank you to Bill Doyle for allowing me the opportunity to reach some lifetime goals. Diamond is, without a doubt, the very best job and working experience of my life.

It came at a time in my life when I really appreciated the opportunity Diamond gave me in all aspects. They supported me when both my parents were in failing health. Family has always come first with Diamond.
